Since I have been so awful at blogging lately, I thought I'd go backward and preserve some of the memories of these few months past.
I love Mobile in the springtime. The Azaleas blooming and the great weather make for a real pick-me-up, and I needed a change of pace. Being pregnant for basically two years in a row really takes it out of a body. I feel like I'm finally emerging from a tired-worn-out-can't-do-nothin cocoon. April is still cold, gloom-and-doom type of crappy up here in Cincinnati, so I really wanted to go to Mobile to experience some outdoors, sunshine and pretty flowers. Since Archie's baseball season was beginning, I had to go at the beginning of April, if I was going to go at all. So Easter it was.
My family has always coloured Easter Eggs as part of our Easter tradition. It's my absolute favourite Easter family tradition. Everyone joined in the fun. Since the weather was nice, we did it outside at the picnic table. Outside was probably the best decision.
The first thing you do is cover the table with newspaper and get your cups for the color tablets. The colour tablets are small, concentrated pellets of color, when mixed with water, dissolve so you can dye the eggs. In other words, they look like little bite-sized pieces of candy. You see where I'm going with this, don't you?
OH, NO, LAWRENCE!!!! WHERE'S THE GREEN ONE?????

I tried to dig it out of his mouth, but he had already crunched it up and the colour was dribbling out of his mouth, on his chin, on his clothes, on me, everywhere. And he bit me. Hard. I imagined we would be seeing some interesting diaper contents soon. I've seen quite a bit of odd things down there. Dirt. Crayon (orange in colour). Glitter (from some glittery chalk found and consumed from Archie's bookshelf). And now green. Not just green. GREEN! Concentrated Green! Too much information? Well, perhaps.
After we got the colour tablets under control, we were ready for egg dying! Lawrence really enjoyed doing his eggs. Most of his broke from being tossed and sloshed into the colour.
This was Sara's first time ever dying eggs.
Archie had been itching to colour eggs all week long. Even while we were in Cincinnati he kept asking when we would be colouring eggs. Well, we have to get to Mobile first! Regular E made a self-affirming egg which said "I am cool". Yeah. Keep telling yourself that. Needless to say, it got voted as the ugliest egg.
Lydia slept through her egg dying time, so I had to help.
Lawrence wanted to try an egg when he got done colouring.
He quickly decided he didn't like it. So he started spitting it out. Well, not really spitting as much as letting it all fall off his tongue and drool down his face. Which totally grossed my Dad out. Dad has quite an aversion to boiled eggs to begin with. After Lawrence displayed his, Dad was so disgusted he had to go inside! It still makes me giggle just thinking about it!
Lydia's egg got voted the prettiest. I wonder how she made such a pretty egg while she was sleeping?
Doesn't Sara look good holding that baby? Well, Regular E...doesn't she????
