First Car Event of the Season

Phillip loves spring up here in our neck of the woods.  Not the birds singing, nor the trees budding, nor the flowers blooming.  Not at all.  Spring means that the cars come out!  Not regular cars.  Good ones.  Hot rods and such.

Much of the day on Sunday was spent in preparation of going to the Quaker Steak & Lube car show.  (Quaker Steak & Lube is a car themed burger joint and bar.)  Phillip spent the afternoon washing, squeegie-ing and towel drying every inch of The Car.  The only glitch was that Lawrence was left unsupervised for a moment and consequently two lug nuts disappeared.  We spent waaay too long looking for them.  They have yet to be found, so more will have to be ordered.  So with a shiny clean beautiful car, minus two lug nuts, we headed to the Quaker Steak & Lube.

Interestingly, ALL FIVE OF US--even the two child seats--fit into Phillip's car.  :-)

Car show protocol for those that are showing off their car dictates that you bring your lawn chair, open your windows, hood, and possibly trunk and just sit.  Some people come up and chit-chat with you, others walk on by.  It is quite relaxing and surprisingly enjoyable, especially in good weather.  And when you're done sitting, you walk around and check out other people's cars.

Lawrence was a little too relaxed.  He didn't get a nap at home and he fell asleep before we arrived.  So when people glanced in Phillip's car at the show, this is what they saw:

If there's a tree wherever we are, Archie will climb it!  Although it doesn't appear so here, he was actually kind of high.  I took the photo from the top of a very steep hill, and he was way downhill from me.

I can only imagine all the places the lug nuts can be..did you check his pockets?

The car show looks fun. They have some good ones here but Toby's not really that into walking around looking at cars..lol. My son on the other hand...
