On Monday I am a Taxi Service

First thing Monday morning, we got up so Phillip could head back to Cincinnati, and so I could get Morgan to her orthodontic appointment. Today was a special day...it was Braces Finally Off Day!! Hurray! The braces would come off in the morning and the retainer would be made. Even though she seemed to have a difficult time believing it would actually happen, they did actually come off. I knew they were taking them off because as I was in the waiting room reading, I heard a bunch of clapping and the singing of a song. Much like Restaurant Birthday songs where the waiters all gather around, clap and sing. This is what the orthodontic hygienists (?) did. It thoroughly embarrassed her, but she was smiling the whole ride back from the orthodontist. They also gave her a goody lunchbox with a bunch of chewy candies and other braces "no-no's" which she promptly tried out on the ride back from the orthodontist.

After that, I picked Archie up from my parents' house where he was having a morning Jama Party with my Mom. We went to meet up with Dr. Joe for a picnic at the park. Yes, I dragged our good friend Dr. Joe out in the cold (well, perhaps cold for Mobile) weather so we could be outside. It has been a long, gray winter in Cincinnati and the sunshine in Mobile was too fantastic to waste being inside! The temperature was in the lower 50's, but in the sunshine it was wonderful! Much thanks to Dr. Joe for being so agreeable as to meet us so we could be outside! Archie enjoyed playing at the park and we very much enjoyed our visit with Dr. Joe.

After our picnic, it was time to drop off Archie and pick up Morgan for her second orthodontic appointment for her retainer fitting. Fortunately, this took much less time than the first appointment and we were outta there pretty quickly. Which was good, because it was almost time for Mojo! The Mystic Order of the Jazz Obsessed, for those not in the Jazz Crowd. We took Archie over to Lily's to play then drove downtown for some Jazz and Jambalaya.

We had a nice time. The waitress took a picture of the gang for me:

Once again, at the end of the evening, I was exhausted. Driving all day, especially in an old person's car, really wears you out! Plus, I missed my nap again. *sigh!*

Stay tuned for our Tuesday and Wednesday adventures to be posted in the next day or so. The ceiling story to be included.
