Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep on swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim! ~Dory (Finding Nemo)

Back to the Ole Routine Again

We are officially getting back to our routine, such that it is. We started 'school' on Monday, after our six or seven week break for Lawrence's birth. Archie had minimal complaints and I found out how much better he is reading, even after being 'off' the past several weeks! Granted, he has been practicing all that time, just not on our curriculum.

Also, he has started circus classes as of the Monday before last with a local theatre company. http://www.mynoseturnsred.org/, for those locals who might be interested. The very first class the kids were balancing peacock feathers on the tips of their fingers, elbows, hands, shoes, etc. Of course, Archie immediately asked the teacher where in the world we could get a peacock feather with which to practice. So he has been entertaining us with new peacock feather tricks ever since. The second class they began stilt walking. Archie did a great job, but said it was pretty difficult. They are also learning clowning techniques, pantomimes, skits, being an announcer and stuff like that. They will also learn to balance on a ball. There is a circus performance for the parents at the end of the class near Thanksgiving. I'll post a video of Archie practicing his feather balancing sometime tomorrow.

Our YMCA soccer ended on Saturday, but the soccer at the rec centre down the street started. So on Wednesday afternoons Archie has practice, then has a game on Thursday afternoons. So far he seems to be enjoying it. So with Story Time at the library on Wed mornings, our church activities on Wed evenings, circus class, and looking into scouting, our schedule is rapidly filling to the brim.

Other news--we went to the Red Bull Soapbox Derby on Saturday. I dunno if you've seen the commercials...it's where people make weird vehicles and they get to run their vehicle and get judged against other odd vehicles. I will post pictures tomorrow because the camera is not in reach at this moment. It was really cool! The ones that wrecked on the way down the hill were the most fun to watch.

I'm back at Yoga finally, which I'm really glad to begin again. I really missed Yoga. It's nice to be able to move around again without my back hurting and being over-tired. The pregnancy weight is going away...I've got about 7 more pounds to go to be back to the 110 I was just before I got pregnant. I'm posting it so I'll stay motivated and on track! :-)

The weather is really nice right now. I haven't had the air conditioner on for about six weeks now. I did turn the heat on for about a half-hour one morning last week...it was 64 degrees in the house! Here's hoping for a decent gas/electric bill for once!

I've got loads of pictures of our activities...I will post them tomorrow.
