Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep on swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim! ~Dory (Finding Nemo)

Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween Day was a busy one. Like the procrastinator I seem to have become recently, I had to make the mad dash to the store in order to purchase our Halloween candy to hand out to trick or treators, along with several other errands. We made it back in time to Skype my Mom so she could see the kids in costume, eat a quick bite, wait for Daddy to get his costume on, then head out for Trick or Treat. Here are the boys in their costumes:

Lawrence doesn't look very happy, does he? We tried to tell him Halloween is fun, but he wasn't paying attention.

Archie assisted in getting Phillip's costume together...That is Archie's vest, hat, neck kerchief, gun and holster. Phillip supplied his own motorcycle chaps to become one striking cowboy! He got a few comments during trick or treating! Lawrence looked cute in his kangaroo costume, and Archie made quite a dashing pirate. A generic pirate. No one in particular. Or so I've been told.

I didn't dress up as anything. We passed out candy for a little bit, then all headed out together. As soon as we stepped on the sidewalk, Lawrence fell fast asleep. He slept through the whole Trick or Treating event!

Our neighbourhood is THE place for trick or treating...people drive their kids here. The sidewalk was difficult to walk down there were so many people! It was like this last year too, but Phillip was working out of town and didn't get to experience it. He was very impressed. It's really kind of cool...all the neighbours sit outside on their porches and pass out candy and chat. People don't bother staying inside their houses because there are so many people; you'd constantly be standing at the door anyway. There were lots of cool decorations too.

Archie got up the courage to go in one neighbour's yard this year...they go all out with the spooky decorations and inflatables. He said he would go if I would go with him. So he made it underneath the Zombie trellis thing unscathed. *Whew!*

This was by far the coolest pumpkin we saw:

So we hit the neighbourhood, then walked down to the church for Trunk or Treat, and headed home. Phillip and Archie had to leave for their Cub Scout camping trip right after trick or treating.

As soon as I can get Archie to tell me about some of the pictures they took, I'll write about their weekend.

We're suspending our regular school activities for a few days...Mon, Tue and Wed are supposed to be our last 'warm' days for a long time. We're going to enjoy them outside. Tomorrow, we have circus class, then we're heading to a park day with some other homeschoolers, then cub scouts. Busy, busy, busy!

Lawrence definitely does not like that kangaroo costume! I love the pumpkin too...what a cute idea.
