Definitely odd, but not the oddest thing I've ever seen him in. I told him he'll have to take off the gloves to eat his hot dogs. So his response is that well, he'll just get a fork. A fork??? This kid has eaten hot dogs the same way ever since he's had his very first hot dog. The red flags were waving like mad!
So I asked him what he did to his hands, why was he hiding them and all that. He totally denied hiding anything and wondered why it was such a problem for him to eat his hot dogs with gloves on and with a fork.
I began noticing a smell. It really began filling up the room. It smelled very much like Phillip's cologne. Hmmm...Then I began noticing a different smell...a very familiar smell...NAIL POLISH!!!
I snatched the Batman gloves off and this is what I saw:
I'm sure he thought I'd be mad. But it was one of those parenting times where I knew I should be fussing about him getting into stuff and then trying to hide it, but I couldn't keep a straight face. I laughed until I cried. Every time I think about him walking down those stairs in those Batman gloves, I just can't keep from laughing!
I think he was a bit embarrassed, because he kept trying to hide his hands while he was eating his hot dog. Which somehow made it even funnier to me!
I have the dark green because I enjoy doing my nails in funky colours when I want to make the time and effort to do them. Blues, oranges, greens, purples, whatever. Just a quirky thing about me. Archie had mentioned a few months back how much he liked the green when I had done them. I guess I never knew just how much he liked it!
After realizing what he had done, he had apparently been scouring the upstairs for the nail polish remover and couldn't find it because I noticed all the drawers opened and rummaged through. I went upstairs to see what I could find, and noticed that he had tried to get the nail polish off with hair spray. Which made me laugh again.
So we got the nail polish off after much effort. Before Daddy made it back from Atlanta, per Archie's insistence. Archie picked the absolute darkest colour in my collection, so getting it off completely was a no-go. He still has a very light greenish hue to his fingernails. To be fair, the green one and clear one were both on the bathroom cabinet. I'm sure that made the temptation just too much to bear!
When I asked him why he picked that particular colour, he told me that he liked green more than clear.
Hee hee! Well, DUH!!!!

Just the beginning of "trying everything" just to see what it's like. :-)
