These flowers look like berries. Makes me almost want to eat 'em.
I love a good sunset picture, and I equally love a good plant / flower picture.
Lawrence enjoyed feeling the wind in his hair, taking a break from the car seat.
Dad really had his work cut out for him. He had to push Archie, then run over and push Mom.
No, we don't do pacifiers. This is a contraption that you put some sort of fruit inside the net part and Lawrence bites and sucks all the juice out without having to worry about him choking on the peels or whatever. He fell asleep while eating his fruit.
Someone else fell asleep in the car. I did too, but no one had the camera out when I was asleep!
I should've put this in the post of my Uncle Paul's wedding. My cousin Cathy makes wedding cakes (or birthday, or shower, or whatever she gets hired to do!) and made this groom's cake for my Uncle Paul. Every part of this is edible, with the exception of the rose in the right hand corner. And that's only there because apparently, one of Cathy's brothers knocked a hole in the cake during transport. She does beautiful work, and really has a talent for creative baking!
We had tickets for the Reds game on Saturday evening. I took the obligatory Tyler-Davidson Fountain picture of the newlyweds while we were downtown. You know, the fountain featured on WKRP in Cincinnati.
There was a bit of a snafu with our seats when we arrived at the game. We have pre-purchased vouchers to sit in a certain section. So Phillip cashed in the vouchers the day before and the only seats that were available eight together were in the handicapped row. Since they were available, Phillip got them.
When we got to the game, some people were in our seats. Their purchased tickets had them sitting somewhere else. They just decided to move there because the lady had a hurt ankle. So I had to get in a fight with an old lady to be able to use the seats that we purchased. Phillip got the seats the previous day, so it's not like we hogged up the good seats weeks in advance or anything...it was one day! If she had needed handicapped seating, then she should've purchased them!
The lady told me that since I was an 'able bodied person' then I could have her purchased seat which was totally in another section. Well, if I wanted to not sit with my family who is visiting from another city, then I would've had Phillip buy each of us a ticket in a different section! Geez! There was only two in her party and eight of us. While I felt kind of sad she had a hurt ankle or whatever, it didn't make me sad enough to move to a different section from my family. I asked the usher if he could work out eight seats together somewhere else in the same section, then I'd be fine with that. But the game was packed, and the section was just about sold out. So I guess you could say, I'm turning all northern, making old ladies move outta their seats. It all worked out in the end, I guess. They moved a few sections down and got to sit together in the handicapped section and we all got to sit together. Usually I'm much more congenial and accommodating, but I really wanted to enjoy the game WITH my family...And they were leaving the very next day. I hope no bad karma comes of it. :-)
Here is Sara and Regular E enjoying a nice, game day beer. Mmmmmm....
Lawrence enjoys playing with the seats at the Reds games.
Lawrence is taking a snooze.
Archie and Phillip. They look quite handsome together, don't they?
During the inning breaks, there are various activities such as the Kiss Kam, where if you see yourself on the jumbo tron, you're supposed to kiss the one you're with and this particular feature, which Archie loves. It's called the Cheesy Dance. You're supposed to dance and they pan the crowd looking for cheesy dancers to feature on the jumbo tron. We've not been featured during the cheesy dance, but it's not for lack of trying.
The Reds sadly lost the game, but we had a nice time anyway. I always do. I don't particularly love baseball or anything, but I do love going to the games. Even if I have to fight the occasional old lady for my seat! :-)
