Fall Activites

Fall is a beautiful time of year here. Coming from Alabama, where most all the trees are long leaf pine trees, the fall in the deciduous forest is absolutely gorgeous! I wish I had been able to muster up the mood and energy to go out and enjoy it more. I really really wanted to spend some time hiking, but have been feeling too tired and out of sorts.

Archie, Lawrence and I took a walk around the neighbourhood last week and took some photos of some of the trees and fall colours around here.

This one was taken at the apple orchard when the folks were here.

When the folks were here, Dad, Regular E, Sara, and Archie headed to Jungle Jim's for some of their Cincinnati special purchases. In other words, a cart full of beer and wine for Regular E and Sara, and many varieties of hot sauce for Dad. Mom, Lawrence and I took a hike in Mount Airy Forest. Sadly, it was the first time I'd been hiking in a long, long time. Lawrence is a heavy load!

The leaves looked very pretty covering the ground and this bridge in Mount Airy.

This tree is just outside my house, off my back deck. I love when the trees are in transition...just beginning their transformation.

I saw this bug while I was photographing the tree. Cool, huh?

This is just outside the minister's house, a half a block from my house.

This one is just outside the chapel at the church.

After our walk, we sat in the leaves to play for a bit.
