Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep on swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim! ~Dory (Finding Nemo)

Doesn't Anyone Have a Job Anymore?

Starting from today, not worrying about yesterday.  We brought Phillip's niece back to Cincinnati with us for a two-week visit.  It has been fun having her, although, a little over a week in, I can tell the honeymoon is over between her and Archie!  Hopefully after a good night's sleep, all will be well again.  We shall see.

Today, I thought it would be fun to take Analise to the zoo.  Thanks to Julie, I have my handy-dandy zoo pass!  So it don't cost me nothin' to go!  :-)   It is quite an ordeal getting four kids out of the house all by myself.  After getting out to the car, realizing that Lawrence needed a diaper change, then Lydia needed a diaper AND clothes changed, almost forgetting my sling, the phone, and actually forgetting the camera and deciding the hell with it, we were on our way!

We arrived at the zoo to find the main parking lot full.  No matter, there are other lots!  I drove past all four parking lots only to find them all full.  I guess everyone was taking advantage of the 70 degree sunny day.

Well, let's not let that get us down...we can go downtown and play in the Fountain and check out the observation deck in the Carew Tower, our currently tallest skyscraper!  I arrived downtown to find I made it just in time for Reds traffic!  There was a game during the day today.  *sigh*  All my ace in the hole cheapy parking places were full.  I considered going to the game, but Lawrence isn't good at staying in his seat for that length of time yet, and it's hard to chase him down with a baby around my neck.  In the sling, of course!  Plus, the problem of a place to put my car remained.

Lastly we decided to  head to Miami Whitewater Forest to do the sprayground.  It was okay, except that Lawrence apparently hates water being sprayed on him.  So that was a bust too.  He couldn't even really muster a smile to go down the little slide.  He did, however, enjoy the fake rocks with crabs and shells painted on them.  Thank goodness for the crabs.

We ended the day with a tournament baseball game that Archie played.  The weather was pleasant and it was nice to be outside.

What are all these people doing milling about downtown, at the Reds game, and the zoo--all taking up the good parking spaces?  Don't people work anymore?

Boo...I hate it when I go downtown Austin and there is something going on that I didn't know about or a load of school kids or tourist at a zoo or musueum. One of the things I miss about Mobile is being able to enjoy something without tourists, crowds, or school kids.

Ah blame the downtown crowd on Ann, as she and several members of our church went and enjoyed the day at the ball field, appearantly parking was not a concern for them, you just need a bus.
