A couple of nights ago, Phillip bought a Coke which is a treat we don't have in the house very often. Coke doesn't last long and is expensive, so we stick to milk, water, juice for the little kids and Mama's sweet tea for liquid refreshment. I was looking forward to a cold glass of icy Coke after doing laundry, sweeping floors, cleaning the kitchen and living room, etc., at the end of the night.
I went in the kitchen, anticipating the sugary, bubbly goodness. Mmmmm Coke! I filled my glass with ice, got ready to pour only to find this in my glass:
This was in the ice cube container. Shocker, I am a bit short, so I just reach in and grab instead of looking at what I am getting ahead of time. So I suppose I deserved what I got. Look before you leap and all that.
Food-coloured ice cubes! Genius! I still don't know what made him think of doing that, but it was pretty great!
Another of his tricks involves duct-taping the nozzle of the hand sprayer at the kitchen sink down. He turns it slightly so you can't see what he's done. When some innocent bystander (me) turns on the water with the intention of drinking a glass of water, or cleaning up some dishes, or getting the evening meal started, she (me) gets a chest full of water. Which causes that particular innocent bystander (me) to have to change under clothes and shirts.
New rule: whoever soaks Mama gets to do the dishes. It seems to be working.
I don't know how Phillip escapes these little traps. It seems like he never gets caught and I always get caught, even though Archie says I'm not the intended target. Or "mark", as they say on the trickster circuit.
Lawrence has been beaned in the head again with the hair water sprayer (the nozzle gets set on stream instead of spray), and the ole turn the shower nozzle so we get a cold shower instead of our intended bath has been revived.
All Archie needs to do now is to spend some quality time with his Reemie--my Mom-- to learn how to properly short-sheet a bed.
