On a side note, Lawrence was 'working' his boo-boos to his advantage, telling all his girls at the baseball game that he broke his nose. Whatta player, that Lawrence!
Archie seemed to be having an off-week as well, just kind of grumpy and unenthusiastic about everything. I'm pretty sure I offended a couple of people at church and possibly at one of our homeschool classes by saying something dumb. Needless to day, it could've been a better week. Since I don't have photos of my offensive behaviour, crying children or my ransacked car, these will have to suffice.
We went to the Car Show Season Opener in Sharonville. Archie got to bring a friend and thought it was pretty cool that we set them loose to wander the street. Since Phillip was showing his car, it was a pretty good gathering place for us to meet back up periodically and the streets were closed off for the event.
We had friends over who were nice enough to order pizza for lunch. Lydia is checking out the leavings.
These were some random pics I took in the car of Miss Lydia.
Lawrence and Lydia were playing with Lawrence's cooking set. Lawrence had thoughtfully prepared a spaghetti dinner for Miss Lydia and some pizza for himself.
Here I was trying something new with poetry. A Poetry Tea. A few days earlier, I asked Archie to find some poems he likes and I found some I liked. Archie's poetry of choice is Shel Silverstein. He only likes funny poems. I chose some scary poems. I made 'fancy sandwiches' with the crusts cut off, served some fruit and some hot strawberry Oolong tea.
Because the weather has been so crappy, we went to the inside playground in Sharon Woods. Susie was nice enough to photograph Lydia's first go-round in a ball pit for me. All the boys (Susie's and mine alike) had a tremendous time.
Oh, yes...something else I forgot to mention: Lawrence is now potty trained! Woo-hoo! I thought it was going to be an agonizing process, because he really fought it to begin with. Sitting him on the potty and listening him scream, "NO PEE PEE! PEE PEE ALL GONE!" over and over again was a real treat. Fortunately, that part only lasted a few days. He is doing really well with very few accidents. He even stays dry all night most nights. I'm thrilled not only because of not having to change two kids' diapers, but because he is good to go for a couple of preschool classes at the rec center and vacation bible school. He needed to be fully potty trained. And I'm not having to change two kids' diapers anymore. Did I mention that already?
