Deer Galore!

We have been experiencing a huge amount of deer sightings in our yard. One of our trees has these berries that resemble blackberries but don’t taste like blackberries on it. The deer come just about every day to eat berries off this tree and off the ground underneath it. We even saw a buck a couple of times! It’s hard to capture the bucks with the camera because they run off at the slightest sound. The does, however, will just stand there and chew and chew! I got a great picture of a doe and her two fawns crossing the street and heading right beside my front porch. The interesting thing is that she looked both ways, waited for cars to pass, then headed across the street toward our house! None of our other deer-in-the-backyard photos were as impressive as these. Click on the picture to make it big.

Those are awsome pics! On our road the other day there was a buck about to cross the road and he stopped and looked both ways before he ran across. I guess they have to become "streetwise" since humans are closing in on their habitats.

OMGosh...so very cool. I'm totally jealous. I'll have to show these to Kaitlyn as she is big time into deer. She spent a week at environmental camp and fell in love with Jackie (the 3-legged deer) and Amber (the adoptee). She recently aquired a "fawn" stuffed animal that is the hit of the season.
