Hey there, Mr. Grumpy Gills. When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep on swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim! ~Dory (Finding Nemo)

Christmas in Alabama

We are enjoying the Christmas holidays with our families in Mobile this year. We arrived around 6am this morning and are very, very tired from the all-nighter. Today we visited with family and helped my parents put up their tree. As usual, we had to stick on my brother's crappy home-made ornaments from Christmases past. Just to make him feel good. You know, the Sunday school craft ornaments and school 'art' time ornaments...My parents don't throw anything away. And we revisit every year at tree decorating time the crafts of the 70's and 80's and argue which of us has more talent. The maker of a twenty-five year old cookie ornament, which is crumbling and barely there (made by my brother) or the thirty year old santa face with a black eye because of spilled candle wax (made by me). And many others just like them.
Sara, my brother's girlfriend called our art projects creative and innovative, in a 'special' way. Like short school bus special.
I will post pictures when I'm not bleary-eyed from exhaustion.
