This has been going around on Facebook for a bit. It's been interesting getting to know some of my friends a little better, and have even found we have things in common that I never knew about. So I thought I'd post mine here as well as on my Facebook page.
25 RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME
Well, since EVERYONE else is playing...
1. Even though this is my second winter in Cincinnati, I still get excited when it snows!
2. I hate the cold; having a fire in the fireplace makes me feel warm on the inside as well as on the outside.
3. I love being outside, doing outside stuff like camping, hiking and canoeing. I hope it's something I can pass on to my children as well.
4. I detest undisciplined children and their parents are even worse.
5. I think even pets should have good manners.
6. Growing up, I had no desire to have children. I'm glad it didn't work out the way I had planned!
7. I think I'm a great Mom.
8. I wish I was a better step-mom. I feel I have poor step-mom instincts.
9. Being a homeschooling family has become a big part of my identity. I am afraid I won't know who I am when my kids grow up.
10. I dream of selling our house to get an RV and travel full time.
11. I'd rather have no television than no internet access.
12. I think my son is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met.
13. I hate it, HATE IT when the coffee filter folds over and grounds get in my coffee.
14. I could watch movies like Spaceballs, Office Space, Men in Tights, Airplane, and Princess Bride an infinite number of times. I probably have!
15. I am finding as I age that appearances are just that. Why did it take me so long to figure this out?
16. I sometimes wore a bikini to the community pool last summer while I was pregnant and felt beautiful!
17. I feel lucky because my husband is my very best friend.
18. I think this quote by JM Barrie is plausable and true because there's no sound more magical than my babies' laughter:
"When the first baby laughed for the first time, his laugh broke into a million pieces, and they all went skipping about. That was the beginning of fairies."
19. I clean my bathroom every day because I think there's nothing grosser than an unclean toilet.
20. I wish I wrote thank you notes more often and for no reason.
21. Even though I am a Christian and feel secure in my relationship with God, when people spout off about their religious views, I automatically think they are judgmental and wonder if they think they are better than me. I guess I'd rather live it than tell it.
22. I'm glad my family has forgiven and/or forgotten all the rotten stuff I did when I was a teenager.
23. I am very satisfied with the way my life has turned out. I feel just as happy now as I remember feeling before age 11.
24. I think all children should call adults Mr. or Miss before either their first or last name as a show of respect. I still call elderly people Mr. or Miss and their first name. It's a Southern tradition I hope never dies.
25. In the past, I had always made a point to remain painfully polite in a confrontation. I don't know if it's living in a larger city or settling in to my grouchiness, but I am finding it easier to tell people what I really think when provoked.
I hope you learned something you didn't already know about me. :-)
