In order to fulfill one of the requirements for Archie's Tiger Cub badge, we needed to visit the inside of a tv or radio station. We chose the public television station. We were invited to join a tour of Cub Scouts already scheduled. We had a lovely time and I must say, that the Cub Scouts we toured with were much better behaved than the Scouts we're actually associated with. I'm hoing to change groups to the homeschool Cub Scouts come September. It's one thing for the kids to misbehave...but the parents seem to make it worse.
Anyhoo...Archie enjoyed seeing the inside of a real studio:

He thought the lighting stuff hanging from the ceiling was pretty cool!

This was the operations part of the station, where the programs are organized, timed and broadcasted. It's pretty much all done by computer, and this one guy who goes in every now and again to make sure things are running smoothly.

Big Bird was in the lobby, so we stopped for a photo.

He's such a cutie.
What a fun field trip. We visited Fox 10 a couple of years ago and throughly enjoyed seeing behind the scenes.
I have fond memories of my boy in his cub scout attire...fun days! Enjoy it for everthings it's worth...they grow up faster than you realize!
