My parents and my brother made it to Cincinnati to visit yesterday! Archie couldn't be more excited and kept asking all day, "When is Reemie getting here?" "Are they almost here?"
They were able to make it in time for Archie's Tee-ball game which was really nice. That's the tough thing about moving away from the grandparents...I get kind of jealous seeing all the other grandmas and grandpas at the games and I miss that for Archie.
I remember missing my grandparents and extended family so much as a child. Especially in the South, in the very country area where I grew up. All my classmates would spend every weekend with cousins and grandparents and have such fun stories to tell on Monday at school. I remember feeling so set apart. On the other hand I can remember almost every second of the time that I spent with my grandparents when they would visit. I think my time with them was more memorable and quality because there wasn't as much of it.
Archie wanted to "warm up" at the ball game with Bumpa throwing to him. Every time he got on base, or got a ball, he would yell to Reemie to make sure she saw. It was really fun!
We are heading to Jungle Jim's and to our new house today and to a Reds game tonight. Hopefully the forecasted rain will go ahead and start earlier today rather than during the game. I have been looking forward to the game all week!
ps...I can't believe that the spell checker doesn't recognize Reemie and Bumpa as correctly spelled words!! :-)
