Since it was crummy outside on my birthday, we did the drive-in movies on Saturday night of Mom's visit. They were playing Mary Poppins and Swiss Family Robinson. We arrived early to get set up and play ball before the movies. It's funny how every time we go to the drive-in it's always cold at night! We just seem to hit it accidentally during a cold front.

Getting ready for the movies to start:
On Monday, we drove to Newport to try out a new tourist activity here called Ride the Duck! It's a vehicle, somewhat like a trolley, that runs on land, but also goes in water too. It drives right into the river and does an Ohio River tour. The initial splash-down into the river is sooo much fun! The tour was very well done and informative as well. On the way back up the river, they even let Archie 'drive' the boat (bus? trolley?) all by himself! He really enjoyed himself! They gave out duck 'quackers' which make quacking sounds when you blow into them. They were and still are a big hit! Here are some pictures from our duck adventure. I wish I had gotten a picture of the whole boat/trolley vehicle...perhaps next time.
Driving the Duck:
This was actually taken on the previous day on the Purple People Bridge--which is a pedestrian bridge connecting Newport, Kentucky with Cincinnati Ohio, crossing the Ohio River.
Here we are riding the Duck on the river. Archie is quacking with his 'quacker'.
Here are various pictures taken during Mom's visit. Lawrence looks most unhappy in this picture:

My boys...What a couple of cuties!

That's funny. We have one of those same duck boats here! They give out quackers and it drives around downtown and tours on the River. It's called "Duck Adventures" here. I LOVE the pic of the two boys together.
